Sustaining

Use Grants.gov to find and apply for federal grants.

Grants.gov is a central storehouse for information on more than 1,000 grant programs and provides access to approximately $500 billion in annual awards. On the site, you can do a grant search or sign up to receive grant news via email or RSS.

It may be worth exploring these opportunities to fund a volunteer program, as many entities may be eligible for government grants:

  • Government organizations, including state, local, and Native American Tribal governments.
  • Public housing organizations, including Indian Housing Authorities.
  • Nonprofit organizations.
  • Education organizations, including independent school districts and public, state and private institutions of higher education.
  • For-profit organizations.
