Sustaining

Offers a process for students, of any age, to get college credit for learning from life experience and previous training

How These Resources Can Help:

  • For older volunteers in the midst of career transitions, Learning Counts.org can be a helpful resource for assessing and gaining education credits for prior learning. It may be possible to get credit for current and past volunteer experiences, and training received to perform specific volunteer roles. Share information about this program with volunteers who are seeking a career encore, or are pursuing a college degree, to show how their volunteering can reap even greater rewards.
  • If volunteers enroll in the Learning Counts program (3 credit course cost $500), help them verify their knowledge or prepare materials for their portfolio.
