Use this to start a program addressing hunger in your community.

This What’s Working Replication Guide shows how you can tap volunteers to address food insecurity. Through the initiative of two RSVP volunteers, this best practice was a result of their efforts to make nourishing meals available during the summer months to school children. The focus is on children who depend on the free/reduced school meals for their primary nutrition during the school year.

This program is one of 13 honored by The Aging Network’s Volunteer Collaborative for providing, in response to the 2012 Call for What’s Working, exceptional tips on how to build a strong volunteer program.
